The Trans Cascadia Excursions Campground reimagines a vacant parcel beside the company’s Oakridge shuttle hub as a bike-centered camping destination shaped by the communal spirit of mountain biking and the landscape character of the western Cascades. Organized as a series of clustered camping zones around shared fire pits and gathering spaces, the plan creates a setting that supports both active recreation and the social rituals that define multi-day riding trips.
A central pavilion, bathhouse, pump track, and flexible mix of tent, van, RV, and potential studio accommodations turn the site into more than a place to park overnight. By using landform, planting, and circulation to connect amenities and buffer neighboring properties, the design creates a cohesive outdoor environment that feels rooted in Oakridge’s forests, trails, and backcountry culture while giving Trans Cascadia Excursions a strong long-term framework for growth.
